Now that you’re in your mid-20s or 30s, you’re realizing you might want to do things differently.

Whenever you catch yourself comparing your life to other people’s — which may be more often than you’d like to admit — you feel shame about being “behind” or “not good enough.” Often, you question your life choices and feel like you’re not living up to the expectations of your family or of society. Despite these feelings, it’s hard to muster the motivation to make a change.

Romantic relationships have always been tough, and you might question if you’ll ever be able to have happy, healthy emotional connections. Maybe you’ve noticed challenges from your past coming up again — like struggles with letting people in, feeling unworthy, or shutting down when dealing with confrontation — and you’re ready to move forward.

Lately, you might be…

  • Overwhelmed with your never-ending to-do list

  • Doubting yourself & your abilities — at work and in your personal life

  • Wondering if you’re with the right partner or whether the relationship is good for you

  • Struggling to speak up for yourself & ask for what you need

  • Feeling ashamed of the ways you cope with all the stress

  • Continuing behaviors that you know aren’t good for you, but aren’t sure how to break the pattern

The feelings you’re having matter.

It’s time to listen to what they’re trying to tell you.

How therapy works

Therapy can help you feel sure of yourself & fulfilled in your relationships.

This is a space where you can cultivate more confidence, gain insight, and improve your ability to make choices that honor the person you want to be. Together, we’ll explore the root of the challenges you’ve faced in your past, and look at new perspectives and ways to break the patterns that no longer serve you. Therapy can help you learn valuable skills like how to set boundaries without doubting your worth, new coping strategies to feel better and ways to improve your relationships.

In our work together, you will find opportunities for growth and self-compassion, allowing you to finally quiet the critical voice in your head. Once you have gained understanding around the things from your past that may be keeping you stuck, you can make lasting changes that shift the trajectory of your future in the direction you want to go.

My approach

In therapy with me…

  • Consider our sessions a safe space to sort through everything. Together, we’ll find opportunities for reflection, growth, and new insights so that you can feel more grounded in your identity. I want you to know that whatever you're feeling and going through, you’re not alone and you’re not broken.

  • In our first session, we’ll get to know each other a bit and talk about what’s been going on in your life. Then, we’ll touch on what you’d like to get out of therapy, and make a plan together to figure out how you can live a life more aligned with what you want and need. We will build up your strengths so that you can feel confident no matter what life throws your way.

  • We’ll work together to learn what healthy relationships should feel like, and explore how your past relationships and experiences could still be impacting you in the present. We’ll get curious about those themes or patterns you've continued to see show up and explore the things that bring up discomfort. You’ll gain coping skills for when you are feeling triggered or stressed and develop a foundation of self-care — so you can feel better for good.

It’s time to discover:

  • Confidence in expressing yourself – You deserve to feel seen & heard.

  • Your authenticity – Embrace the truest version of you, standing strong and secure on your own.

  • A stronger sense of self — Be confident in who you are & what you want out of life.

  • Self-compassion – Know that you are worthy of showing  yourself care & understanding.

Frequently asked questions about Relationship & trauma therapy

  • The length of time you’re in therapy is totally up to you. My goal is to help you feel better, so whether the path to that is short or long-term, I’m here for it. The important thing is that no matter what, our sessions don’t feel stagnant and you feel your time is being well-spent. So, we’ll check in regularly on your progress and feelings about your therapy experience, and adjust our approach or revise goals as needed.

  • I work one-on-one with women so that we can get to the underlying cause of their relationship troubles and they can have healthier relationships in the future. That being said, I’m happy to refer to a couples counselor, or an individual counselor for your partner if they are interested in seeing someone themselves. However, it is recommended to attend therapy as an individual even if you do end up in couples counseling.

  • Trauma can have a lasting impact on people, influencing how they think, feel, and interact with the world. It can often lead to things like anxiety, depression, and difficulties forming trusting relationships. Therapy can be a helpful space to process and navigate the effects of trauma, fostering healing and resilience over time.
